World Environment Day celebrates its 50th anniversary this year under the slogan #OnlyOneEarth. Since June 5th, 1972, this special day pursues the goal of promoting global awareness and action to protect the environment.
Never before has the health of our planet been so important as it is today. Melting poles, the extinction of countless animal and plant species, natural disasters - these are all consequences of climate change that threaten the health of our planet. It is time for all of us to act and take responsibility. Everyone can make a contribution, because even small things can make a big difference.
Let´s take care of IT
As a medium-sized company, we want to protect nature and, accordingly, the topic of sustainability is also becoming increasingly important for us. Out of love for our planet, we focus on the reuse of used IT products and the use of biodegradable packaging materials.
But that is not all. Due to our strong ties to the region and its ecosystem, we are also involved in other environmental projects. Last year, for example, we participated in the fundraising campaign "My Tree for Magdeburg" and planted our own cyber tree in Magdeburg.
This year we are supporting the local bee protection project "Bienotopia", which protects bees and helps to rebuild their natural habitat.
In order to give back to various bee and insect species a piece of their natural free space, so-called biosphere reserves are created in the course of the project. The biotopes, consisting of necessary and important plant, tree and flower species, create new habitats for wild bees and the most important pollinators of our planet.
Every square meter for the bees counts!
So we are also, for the next 12 months, the proud owner of a 10m² plot in the bee reserve near the Teufelsmauer - between Cattenstedt and Timmenrode.
Another project we are happy to support this year is "I Plant A Tree". The idea behind the project is to reforest forests and to guarantee the protection of the trees. We have chosen the project Ramsenberg around Südharz and are happy about 105 newly planted trees. The Ramsenberg project is part of a cooperation with the State Forestry Enterprise of Saxony-Anhalt. With this project, we support sustainable forest conversion in the entire Harz region. The south of Harz forest district is certified according to PEFC and FSC rules.
